Everyone who begins the conscious journey to self-discovery must find The Way. The Way can be learned in a special school, though these schools are not generally within the public eye. In the age of the internet and mass communication, much of the old “mystery school” knowledge from the old days has made its way into books, podcasts, and articles like this. However, everything today has its inversion. We are becoming aware of these inversions as more knowledge comes out, thus we must learn how to discern what is truth and what is an inversion of truth. This can only happen if we become more conscious.
Self-discovery is another term for Source. Source can be defined as the “I am” that is often referred to in spiritual philosophy, especially Eastern spiritual philosophy. Understanding what “I am” really means is often ambiguous. Often, it’s spoken about in such a way to make it sound instinctual like everyone understands its meaning inherently, because of this, we can assume that many of these promoters do not fully understand it’s meaning. It takes a certain level of awakening to even begin to understand what the Source or “I am” is describing; furthermore, nobody should believe or put full faith in anything that they have not experienced or verified for themselves. Even knowledge from those “masters” should all be taken in and entertained by the mind, but should not become an intimate part of someone’s belief system until they’ve verified it for themselves – self-discovery is its own definition. I can give you lectures all day on how to swim, but you won’t have a true understanding of being a swimmer until you’ve jumped into the deep end of the pool and managed to keep yourself above water and oriented properly.
We are in the early beginnings of a new age where the vaults of knowledge are being opened and shared to the world. People are learning about mystery schools, both the light and the dark schools, and those who dig deep enough, will find that some of these schools correspond to secret groups or secret societies have been the silent shepherds of our civilization – pulling the strings and dictating policies through public figures and organizations, for thousands of years. Often these public figures are a product from these very mystery groups. It is pretty clear that the primary influence on the population has come from the darker mystery groups, for many centuries.
In this new age, one can find The Way without having the connections and initiations into these old and secret institutions. Consciousness is rising in such a way that the knowledge has been decimated into the world, it’s now just a matter of the seeker becoming dedicated enough to filter out the truth from the disarray of the clutter and confusion of mass information. As this knowledge is being decimated onto consciousness, humanity will continue to awaken and realize that we’ve been living in the shadow – and this is our opportunity to ascend into the great new age by confronting and transmuting the darkness into light.
From my experience, I have found a general process in which one goes through, in order to trigger the resonance within oneself that will innately lead him or her to The Way. This is just a basic framework. No one will have the same path or experience as the other because we are all wired differently through our memories and experiences in life; however, there are several common characteristics that I’m finding among those who have awakened into higher states of consciousness. The core of this evolutionary process is the transformation from a mechanical being into a conscious being. A mechanical being is the one who is asleep – this is virtually everyone today. Though many are now realizing they are asleep, this does not mean one is awakened – it means that they must now develop themselves into an awakened state – and this is very difficult. The progression from the mechanical ego-mind into the conscious, self-driven mind can be generalized in this order:
1. A spark of consciousness begins growing within and The Seeker is born
There are possible catalysts that may spark an awakening force within an individual. It could be a deep feeling that something is wrong with the world; A loss of motivation and desire for material things; A longing to leave the stresses and heaviness of the world experience; extreme curiosity about death; an unhappy childhood; a traumatic experience like a NDE or OBE; A long-time feeling of loneliness, even though one isn’t lonely; Inability to find happiness in the material world or realizing that it’s only temporary and is attached to outside circumstances only; realizing that one isn’t conscious and is merely a programmed identity – unable to change habits or patterns in one’s life; Inability to find fulfillment in life – despite being successful in many efforts; depression and anxiety – often from unknown causes; drastic changes in one’s lifestyle or habits. The list can go on and on.
What’s important is the awareness of the symptom and the inner work that one does to find the cause. This awareness and seeking the cause is the onset of the awakening. One must begin experiencing one of several of these (and there are more) for the seeker within to develop. The seeker is the first stage and it is often a result of inner stresses and anxieties that need to be worked out. This individual must have a will strong enough to work on himself rather than giving up on life, suicide, turning to substance abuse or even so called “professional treatments.” One begins to place their attention inwards in order to find a way to alleviate the symptoms. Attention is the 1st degree of an awakening consciousness. When one intently places his attention on a specific emotion or symptom, this is the spark of consciousness developing.
2. A desire for deeper knowledge and understanding of reality
When the student is ready, the teacher appears. If one begins to knock, the door shall open. This stage of pre-awakening happens when the seeker begins to find an intense thirst for knowledge; ancient history, philosophy, religious knowledge, spirituality and especially esoteric knowledge become a primary interest for the seeker. Often, there was no such desire in the past to learn about this knowledge. As this desire fires up within the individual, they develop an unquenching thirst for the deeper meanings of life. During this time, the Seeker begins feeling elevated from acquiring this knowledge. He begins to find vague answers, or fragments of truth, but most importantly, purpose – and this fuels his will to press onwards. More questions arise than answers. He effortlessly finds resources and sources of this knowledge and begins building an entire new database of information within his mind. This knowledge is key when higher stages of awakening begin.
During this process, one starts having epiphanies or “Aha” moments as the Seeker begins to resonate with specific information that is learned. During this time, one usually begins practices towards a healthy lifestyle, which correspond with many spiritual practices. These practices correspond to the knowledge he is acquiring and are often in the form of special diets, fasting, yoga (meditation), prayer, being in nature, eliminating noise and negativity from his outside world, severing relationships that do not promote his well-being, and so on.
Habits and hobbies, likes and interests, relationships and friendships all begin to change drastically. One may discover there is no longer has any interest in small talk, or getting with the guys to watch “the game,” girls’ night out, watching sitcoms, and even changes in the types of music or entertainment one would normally engage in. The changing of personality, identification, and a complete restructuring of one’s outside world are all common symptoms of the awakening. It is important for the practitioner to allow the changes to happen and to also realize that the changes that are being observed are but a reflection of the inner changes taking place, such as, nervous system and energy system healing, structural alignments that bring the organism back into “tune,” and removing negative characteristics and expressions that one becomes aware of and then struggles to conquer during the process. Hanging on to attachments that are no longer useful for one’s development is like an alcoholic justifying in his mind that its ok to have just one drink. This is the battle between consciousness and mechanicalness.
The process of healing and reconfiguring the mental framework of the organism can be greatly accelerated if the practitioner focuses his time and efforts utilizing multiple disciplines like Yoga asanas – especially working with the poses that are difficult or presently unreachable, a diet of healthy and completely natural foods, meditation, and so on. Meditation is at the core of both health and spiritual practices. An article just on this practice will be coming soon.
3. God’s temple is the body
The mind is within and of the body. I’m not referring to the brain – this is the fleshy apparatus the contains processing components and regulators; I’m referring to the mental and intellectual center, which includes thinking, thoughts, identity, and perception. Just as the heart doesn’t only refer to the organ that regulates blood pressure and flow, but emotion and feeling are represented in the heart center. This 3D reality is experienced only within the mind. Everything is happening in the MIND. Without the mind, the world you know and understand does not exist.
The mind, in simple terms, is the mental program that decodes frequencies. The 5 senses (vision, hearing, touch, taste, and smell) are the mechanisms within the mind that decode the frequencies into sensations or phenomena. For example, the images and media displayed on a computer screen are not actual reality. Though they look and sound real, as soon as you drill down into the source that’s producing the sounds and images, you’ll see that its ultimately just energy that’s vibrating at different rates. Your senses receive these vibrations and decode that energy into images and sounds. Many of these images and sounds then, through the mechanical process, create thoughts and emotions. These thoughts and emotions are among the functions of the mechanical process that one must upgrade in order to be liberated from the sleeping state, and this is done through conscious development.
Purifying the body is a top and critical priority of the seeker in order to truly begin finding The Way back to Source. As one continues to progress, he’ll notice his will towards his practice growing stronger and he’ll increase the efforts as the intentions focus. The intensity increases when the practitioner begins experiencing breakthroughs, especially during meditation. The consciousness of the inner body starts expanding, to a point where the practitioner becomes astonished at what he or she is discovering within the organism. Intuition grows and begins to subtly guide the practitioner through different strategies and techniques that are acquired both from the outside research and through moments of clarity during Yoga / meditation when one is struggling with an inner barrier. Onion layer upon onion layer, the practitioner works through the dense structure of his body and his psychological conditioning.
4. The germination of the Energy Body
After enough effort, certain barriers in the lower centers of the body open up and energies within the body begin to loosen up and gravitate towards the meditator’s focus. With physical sensations developing within the body, a new experience develops and the practitioner’s attention begins to tune into these physical sensations. One may begin feeling tingles of energy, or vibrations happening in different parts of the body. These sensations develop further and lead one to discover new techniques, which aid in the process, while others are no longer needed. The practitioner learns what works and what doesn’t by experiencing the development of these energy channels. Most become noticeable when enough physical sensations develop from them, others are found from the inner awareness that is growing within the individual. It’s important that knowledge and research is done to help the mind understand what is happening to the body. The practice and knowledge seeking should be done hand-in-hand; moreover, intuition should be guiding the practitioner in this direction if he is keeping himself pure and dedicated to the practice.
A good concept to understand the experience here is to imagine what it would be like to be crawling around in a completely dark cave, feeling your way around. After a while, you’ll develop a mental image of the area you are in and where there are openings, holes, barriers, etc. As you become more aware of where you are in the body, you’ll start finding new openings and pathways to explore. The energy channels that develop give you this ability to “feel” around inside your organism.
Ultimately one begins to discover a root-like structure of energy strands, ascending their way up the body, with a core component running through the spine. As they grow and expand, one faces many obstacles; the darker components of one’s program must be faced and dealt with and also the physical barriers must be dealt with. The body must become aligned properly for this web of energy strands to continue ascending and expanding throughout the body. Many memories will come into one’s awareness, even some that were repressed or completely forgotten. Altered states of mind become more frequent and more intense – these experiences are usually come when breakthroughs of an emotional or physical barrier occur.
The practitioner observes the body and the physical changes that happen as a result of this energy expansion. One then can almost begin to “see” this energy. It appears in the mind’s eye as an upside-down tree beginning to grow. The roots are the energy channels growing upwards. A subtle yet gradually progressing realization occurs – the body is like a cocoon, or a vessel, for the birth of this energy body. It begins to awaken and purify the organism as it slowly, with the outside help of the practitioner, ascends upwards in its pursuit to find the light – just as a seed sprout finds its way to the sunlight.
5. From seeker to self-initiate
Prior to this experience, the body was the identification and the self. Everything within the being was mechanical in a sense – all driven by emotions which are triggered by memories and thought patterns. As the energy body grows inside the biological body, consciousness rises to a level inconceivable to the practitioner prior to this evolution. At this point, it is mostly useless to discuss or consult with others who have not experienced some level of inner transformation. This is a slow and gradual process and one must have strict discipline on how the body is treated and what sustenance is provided to the organism. The mental discipline is just as important and the individual must utilize the increased consciousness and will power to conquer mental programs that are detrimental to the growth of the energy body – negative emotions can be the most destructive in this process. Many of these mental obstacles are tied to physical alignments in the body. This is how yoga postures help the process by stretching the physical body in certain alignments, allowing ease in the body so energy can finally pass through and the mental program which is stored there, can be released.
The practitioner will find that certain types of programs are stored in certain areas of the body. For example, someone who is shy or timid, perhaps weak at expressing herself might find this characteristic reduced or eliminated by focusing on neck and throat correcting postures. This must be followed through with meditation which finally directs the nervous system and subtle energies through the structures that are now free of the debilitating tension and misalignment.
The hips can store fear-based traumas from childhood, past life traumas, unhealthy sexual urges, and other similar programs. The upper gut area can store programs related to confidence and will power, and unhealthy diets and eating disorders. Much information is available on how certain energies dwell in certain areas of the body. This correlates much with the Eastern spiritual sciences on the energy centers or “chakras.”
All this correcting and healing is done through the conscious effort of the practitioner. As she progresses, intuition and energetic forces within come to her aid and help guide as-well-as show results of the work invested – often the results can be overlooked because the “next barrier” tends to absorb most of the attention, or the subtleness of the development isn’t quite realized at first, but then one often sees it during a time of reflection. Its like strength training, as one gains ability to work with a certain weight, she often moves up to the next level of weight not realizing right away of the growth that just occurred. This type of inner development, however, is much more subtle than weight training.
There comes a point where one may induce a massive force of energy. When the intention and the emotion for the union with the source reach a certain level, and special techniques are practiced, this dormant energy can awaken. I won’t go into this too much in this article as it can be dangerous and should not be tempted by anyone who has reached a certain level of development and who has not made certain preparations for it. This energy is referred to by different names depending on what cultures or religions one is familiar with. One of the most common in Yoga is called Kundalini or the Goddess Shakti in Hinduism. In Christianity it can be referred to as the Holy Ghost. The serpent, Mother, the Dragon, the Flame… all are general terms sometimes used to describe this phenomenon.
When this energy awakens, the Seeker, in my opinion, becomes the self-initiate. The outside life must be prepared in a certain way, and the seeker must have acquired enough health and discipline to handle this level of energy. Imagine a machine that runs off of 20 amps. If you introduce 50 amps to it, the machine will likely break down, cause a fire, or perform dangerously. This concept must be taken seriously by the seeker. Most do not have the infrastructure to handle this energy without the proper training before-hand. Physical and mental experiences mentioned before can happen on an extreme level. The life outside can literally fall apart in an instant due to the emotional and mentally erratic behavior. Physical injuries from an unhealthy physical structure could be irreversible; furthermore, one could end up going completely insane.
I do not exaggerate or speak of this lightly. Certain practices should be avoided until one is specially prepared. I will discuss this energy in more details, and specific practices, to those who have a desire to learn more about this level of the evolutionary process – but for this level, one must become a paid subscriber. Also, for paid subscribers, I will be contributing more on practices that have been useful for me in my journey to the light. This level of information is not useful to most, only to those who have specific intentions of beginning a practice of their own. I will engage as much as I can with paid subscribers as they comment or bring questions to the community that we build together.
I will continue to write about this evolutionary topic and other spiritual topics relevant to the great awakening that we are all experiencing – so be sure to at least become a free subscriber. Much is coming our way in the near months and without a strong spiritual foundation, one can easily become consumed by fear and panic as the veil continues to be lifted. Those clinging to power will use all that is available to them, to conceal, deceive, reduce, and numb the population from becoming conscious. Our only true way out is to become conscious, all other means of preparation are secondary. Illumination comes through us; the “second coming” of Christ, comes through us. It is within US, that the barriers of illumination must be broken. As within, so without.
